Job Summary

The Disburser supports the Escrow Department after closing is complete by making sure the file has balanced, verify ingoing and outgoing wires, provide wire verification, good funds have been received and release file for recording. At day's end make deposits and run day end reports on all accounts.

Essential Functions

  • Supports Escrow Department in file maintenance.
  • Makes day end deposits.
  • Creates daily reports for day-end processing for each account.
  • Manually enters checks on deposit tickets and balances with computer totals.
  • Tags receipts and prints deposit tickets.
  • Uploads check data to bank accounts.
  • Checks exception report data for proper amounts on issued checks.
  • Enters monthly interest into savings accounts.
  • Runs monthly report on 1099’s, checks on hold, trial balance and reconciles as necessary.
  • Files annual 1099 annually.
  • Balances disbursing Sheet with recorders sheet.
  • Disburses files- check/wire/ACH.
  • Receipt checks into account.
  • Receives & receipts incoming and outgoing wire/ ACH for all files.
  • Assists with stale dated checks.
  • Assists with trial balance sheet.
  • Assists with underwriters and auditors.
  • Escheats fund to State as necessary.
  • Adhere to company policy and guidelines.
  • Always maintains confidentiality.
  • Work as a "team-player" with co-workers in a respectful and supportive manner.
  • Seek and participate in development and training opportunities.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Functions

This position has no direct reports.

  • Confidentiality of the highest level is required for this position and exemplifying this attribute is a must.
  • Ability to operate standard business computers with advanced knowledge of related business applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, meeting deadlines and general time management.
  • Ability to prepare accurate, timely, effective, complete and easily understood written communications.
  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with customers and organizations; exceptional follow-up skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, bachelor’s degree in Business preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience real estate, banking, or title field.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience with bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Customer service experience, knowledge of real estate transactions and lending a plus.
  • Ability to pass a credit and background screening.

Working Environment

Mat-su Title Agency has an office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. At times, there may be a need to visit customers outside of the office or attend industry functions.
