Part time care companion for an 85 year old to start in April 2025. Care is needed on Wednesdays & Fridays, 8am-12pm, providing support to alleviate the primary caregiver (his wife). Family also needs care on one Sunday per month from 10am-3pm. Client is generally independent, though he may require under the arm assistance when standing (client weighs ~135lbs.). Client has Alzheimer's and may experience occasional unsteadiness, for which he uses a walker. He has been eating less and experiencing symptoms of depression. Additionally, there is a small, friendly Chihuahua in the home, though no pet care is required.
Compensation: $20 per hour
Schedule:
- Wednesdays Fridays, 8am-12pm
- Sundays, 10am-3pm (1 Sunday per month)
Responsibilities:
- Engaging with the client
- Light hygiene assistance, as needed
Requirements:
2 years of paid, professional caregiving experience
UTD on CPR certification/willing to renew
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Heimlich maneuver training
