Salary Schedule is based on the 2025-2026 school year. The Siuslaw School District allows step credit the salary scale for years of certified teaching experience.
This is a 10-month, 185-day/renewable position, that includes benefits of paid medical and leave.

TITLE: Teacher, K-5 Literacy Coach, 1.0FTE
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Support teachers in literacy components, facilitate data collection, data meetings and supports teachers in planning & instruction. Instructs students in the skills, application, and structure of English Language Arts commensurate with the grade level.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Building Principal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Oregon Teaching Certificate valid for assignment
- Appropriate endorsement level and subject matter. Preference given to multiple endorsements.
- Familiarity with and ability to make appropriate use of technology.
- Experience in coaching/reinforcing of knowledge & skills and delivery of tiered supports.
- Strong behavior and classroom management skills.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a highly structured classroom where expectations are taught
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITITES:
- Maintains a physical environment conducive to learning.
- Works to educate holistically; teaches social and citizenship skills as well as academic skills.
- Matches activities and materials to individual and group skills and needs.
- Support instructional decisions on student progress data.
- Ensures that instructional activities and materials are clearly related to District, school, and department goals and objectives.
- Provides instruction based on designated instructional guides or develops alternate materials in prescribed District format.
- Selects and requisitions the required supplies and equipment through the proper school and department channels.
- Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
- Confer with and assist teachers in planning, setting their own goals, developing lessons, and solving problems.
- Help with materials and provide information.
- As a co-learner, participate in professional development with teachers.
- Consult on best ways to assess students.
- Help develop curriculum.
- Lead professional development workshops and/or join study groups.
- Assist teachers in using assessments to inform instruction.
- Model lessons and confer with teachers when requested.
- Co Teach lessons and strategies when requested.
- Provide feedback on classroom events, when requested.
- Observe and help the teacher plan instruction for specific students or groups when requested.
- Assume nonjudgmental role, but assist in instructional improvement by providing focused feedback when requested.
- Knowledge and understanding of Savaas Curriculum.
- Understanding of how to analyze and synthesize data to promote student learning.
- Participates cooperatively on school, area, and District-wide activities, including development of planned course statements, tests, and textbook adoptions. Responds in a cooperative and positive manner to supervision.
- Maintains open lines of communication with parents, classified staff, licensed staff, and support personnel to establish a positive work environment.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned duties
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings and all relevant IEP & 504 meetings.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of all student data, including IEP and 504 information.
- Achieves professional growth through consultation with District support staff and attendance at building and District in-service meetings.
- Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with building administrators and staff__cooperating to resolve problems in a professional manner so that the concerns of all parties are considered.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Follows specified standards, policies, and procedures of the department, the building, and District.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed in a wide variety of locations, including office and school environments.
- May work with high stress student, family, or personnel situations.
- May require occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Involves sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing and attendance at evening and weekend meetings.
- Requires the use of computers and office equipment.
MINIMUM TERM OF EMPLOYEMENT: Teacher Contract.
SALARY LEVEL: Placement on Teacher Salary Schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board's policy on Evaluation.
Salary : $49,858 - $91,303
