What are the responsibilities and job description for the Costume Character position at Six Flags America?
Purpose: Engage and entertain all park guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- AUDITION REQUIRED
- Foster positive interactions with all park patrons across operating days.
- Maintain visibility at special park functions.
- Assist in ensuring costume integrity and timely repairs.
- Adhere to the highest safety standards.
- Demonstrate reliability as a team member, including punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Escort and assist costumed characters throughout the park.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work locations and the park for all guests and team members.
- Maintain character costumes and escort uniforms in pristine condition.
- Participate in additional job-related tasks as required by the department.
- Occasionally support other entertainment venues within the park as an usher.
- Uphold professional standards in accordance with Six Flags policies.
Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including heat and rain.
- Capacity to perform duties while confined to an enclosed costume with limited visibility.
- Minimum age requirement is 16 years old.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Satisfy height and weight requirements for proper costume fit.
- Present a good attitude, appearance, and demonstrate teamwork.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on project and park needs.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Physical ability to walk, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
