What are the responsibilities and job description for the LANDSCAPE SUPERVISOR position at Six Flags Great America?
Specific Job Duties :
Plan, coordinate and supervise Landscape systems.
Using accepted horticultural practices maintain the landscape of Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor Chicago
Oversee and coordinate the work of all landscape employees along with planning and scheduling said work
Responsible for hiring seasonal and fulltime staff and training them in company policies and procedures
Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external employees
Be knowledgeable about the plants used in keeping the park looking aesthetically pleasing.
Be knowledgeable about the tools and equipment used in landscaping the park
Be able to obtain or have already an Illinois Dept. of Agriculture Pesticide Applicators license and know how to use the pesticides in the park
Know how to use Maximo for all work accomplished and ordering of supplies
Able to work within the department budget
Assist in concept, plant materials, design and construction of new attractions
Be available to work any shift assigned by Manager
All other duties as assigned by Management
Minimum Qualifications :
5 years experience with Landscaping
5 years Supervisory Experience
Must be able to trouble-shoot clearly, calmly and safely in the presence of Guests and fellow Team Members
Must possess strong safety sensitivity & ability to work with many different types of devices
Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the primary job duties, including climbing and working at heights up to and in excess of 150ft., crawling and working in confined spaces and lifting up to 100 lbs. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures. Must possess the physical dexterity to operate hand tools and motor vehicles
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong and effective leadership skills
Must possess a valid Drivers License
