Sixteen Bricks Artisan Bakery needs a skilled and experienced maintenance technician. Responsibilities include:
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, clean, and maintain bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, proofers, and refrigeration units to ensure they operate efficiently.
Repairs: Perform minor repairs on bakery equipment and coordinate with external technicians for major repairs.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize equipment downtime.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
Inventory Management: Keep track of maintenance supplies and order new parts and tools as needed.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
Collaboration & Employee Management: Work closely with managers and other staff to identify and address any equipment issues promptly. The maintenance manager is responsible for managing maintenance staff performance.
Asset Management: Track the condition and maintenance history of all equipment and assets. Plan for equipment upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using and repairing bakery equipment as well as general building maintenance.
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and fix equipment issues quickly, and/or to recognize when it is appropriate and necessary to hire external technicians for repairs.
Attention to Detail: Ensure all maintenance tasks are performed to a high standard.
Communication: Good communication skills to coordinate tasks with production and accounting staff.
Physical requirements: Work requires skilled mental and visual attention along with manual coordination to effectively and safely complete various physical tasks throughout the production areas, building, and property, and whenever operating machinery or motor vehicles. This job is not sedentary; the individual is frequently required to move (walk, squat, reach overhead, rotate, twist, bend, lift), and stand for varying periods of time and will frequently move (push, pull, lift, grasp, carry, drag, etc.) materials up to 50 pounds. Employees should be comfortable working in hot and cold environments and are required to follow GMP standards and Sixteen Bricks’ dress code guidelines whenever in production areas.
At least 5 years of bakery maintenance experience or similar field work required.
Pay Frequency: bi-weekly
Schedule requirements: full time, 5 days a week, day and evening hours as needed with some weekends required
