SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Project Director, and as a part of a multidisciplinary team, the psychotherapist will provide direct services to individual (adults), couple, family and group therapeutic services including assessments, treatment plans and discharge planning for adolescent and adult populations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide Individual Psychotherapy using evidence-based practice
- Responds promptly to referrals from providers including referrals via warm hand-offs
- Participates in treatment planning to assess needs and coordinate services
- Maintains weekly scheduled appointments and record keeping in our electronic health record (EHR), Practice Fusion
- Provides psychosocial interventions to patients and their families
- Utilizes crisis intervention when necessary
- Works in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including external partners
- Completes required documentation and paperwork including biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning and implementation promptly
- Demonstrates cultural competency and unconditional positive regard for patients
- Demonstrates commitment to the philosophy of the agency
- Maintains a weekly need-dependent caseload as assigned by the Project Director
- Conduct intake/bio-psycho-social assessments to determine level of care and drive treatment plans
- Create and implement individual treatment plans specific to identified needs
- Facilitate psychotherapy groups and individual psychotherapy sessions
- Manage a caseload
- Engage in crisis intervention and risk assessments with the ability to triage as indicated
- Participate in weekly interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
- Coordinate care with other community providers
- Involve family members and significant others in treatment as indicated
- Operate under the guidance and direction of the Clinical Program Supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
To perform effectively in this position, the psychotherapist must have/be:
- Working knowledge of Clinic policies and procedures
- Licensed Psychologist ( Psy.D or PhD) , Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Knowledge and experience with evidence-based practices, including trauma-informed care framework.
- Knowledge and experience working with co-occurring and high-risk populations (chronic health conditions, mental health, and substance use) with emphasis on adults and families.
- Strong organization and administrative skills, including computer skills (Microsoft Office software).
- Strong clinical documentation skills and ability to complete documentation promptly
- Ability to make routine decisions and determine proper action based on experience within the limits of policy and procedures.
- Bilingual capacity with the ability to provide services in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Demonstrated oral/written skills in Spanish and English is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultures, ages, and economic backgrounds in a culturally competent and sensitive manner.
- Capable of rapport building with clients to facilitate their engagement in the psychotherapy process.
- A strong desire to contribute and work as a team member in an interactive, multidisciplinary practice.
- Hard-working, reliable, and dependable.
LICENSURE AND EDUCATION:
Applicant must have one of the following Licensure
PsyD or Ph.D in Psychology with minimum one year of clinical experience
Or
Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited university, LCSW, good standing in the State of California with a minimum of one year of clinical experience
Or
LMFT in good standing in the State of California with a minimum of one year post-licensure.
