Overview
The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who will proactively improve the quality systems of the company through internal/external audits, participation in process improvement programs, and interaction with key customers to obtain constructive feedback. As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead quality audits, oversee quality systems, and work closely with various departments to maintain and improve product quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement process controls to reduce variability and defects in materials.
- Perform internal and external quality audits and compile detailed reports of findings.
- Study material failures and defects in automotive parts, using chemical engineering principles to determine causes.
- Design and execute quality control plans, including statistical process control to monitor and improve material quality.
- Ensure all materials used in manufacturing comply with industry regulations and environmental standards.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations affecting material use and implement necessary changes in materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze quality data and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage projects related to quality improvement initiatives, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Train and mentor staff members on quality assurance best practices and procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality systems, inspections, audits, and corrective actions taken.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Automotive Engineering or closely related field of study;
- Analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot material defects;
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders; and
- Effectively present quality analysis and solutions to clients, ensuring clear communication and maintaining client satisfaction.
- Proficient in developing and implementing effective quality assurance processes.
- Ability to analyze data effectively to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
