GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Teacher must be able to consistently, and successfully perform all essential functions of the position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support in facilitating and monitoring of the continual evaluation of each child’s progress.
- Support in facilitating direction, resources, and support to the program staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating program curriculum.
- Support in providing leadership and guidance to children, families, and staff
- Support with the implementation of SJB Curriculum.
- Establish a climate of respect for each child’s individual personality, physical characteristics and traits, culture, language and ethnic characteristics, family structure, developmental needs and behaviors.
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with each child’s parent and / or caregivers.
- Relate to all children in encouraging and positive ways.
- Nurture and facilitate the learning experience by meeting each child at their point of need through a variety of teaching methods, which include but are not limited to individualized care and small group experiences.
- Interact daily with each child and support his or her learning process.
- Manage and implement a positive approach of combining consistency, empathy, and culturally diverse practices.
- Supports with the orientation process of families.
- Support in the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum activities for children.
- Provide direct support, engagement, and extension of a child’s play and learning experiences by offering assistance and providing resources.
- Support in designing interest areas to provide choices, opportunities for safe risks, and challenge children to interact, learn, create, and thrive while corresponding with the developmental and individual needs of each child, thus fostering the desire to learn.
- Support Classroom and Behavior Management
- Offer clear expressions of expectations with natural and logical consequences.
- Conduct Parent Conferences and Home Visits (4 Parent Conferences- 2 Home Visits annually)
- Prepare DRDP assessments for each child (3 annually)
- Handle all paperwork and follow associated with Mental Health assessments and Referrals
- Be familiar with the needs of each family and follow the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP)
- Monitor and comply within EHS 30, 45, 90 day mandates
- Maintain a Family Communication Log for each child

QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE OF
ABILITY TO
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures with conformance to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from government entities, employees, managers, clients, and the general public. Bilingual a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts with a 10 Key.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables, occasionally in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
