What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Mechanical Engineer position at SJB Clarios (Shanghai) Company Management Co., Ltd?
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical development and verification for next generation product including variant of ESS, Smart PUD, control unit and related subsystems.
- Develop 3D models, 2D drawings, and tolerance stack-up analyses using CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks). Ensure designs meet performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability targets.
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations (e.g., structural integrity, thermal management, vibration analysis) to validate designs.
- Work closely with electrical, thermal, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and GD&T specifications.
- Develop and execute DV/PV test plans for mechanical components/systems (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal cycling, IP sealing).
- Research and implement new materials, manufacturing processes, and technologies to enhance product performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in CTO office, global product line, business development and corporate strategy as to jointly develop the leading technology in the market.

Education/Professional Knowledge
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field. 10 years working experience in Automotive.
- 8 years of mechanical design experience in automotive, new energy, power supply or high-power electronics industries.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with ESS /power system mechanical design.
- Proven track record in delivering at least 2 full-cycle projects involving ESS, PDU, Zonal/Domain controller or high-voltage controllers
- Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, or NX).
- Advanced simulation skills (ANSYS, ABAQUS, STAR-CCM , or similar).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, DFM/DFA, and PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter).
- Expertise in materials selection for automotive environments (e.g., aluminum alloys, composites, sealing materials).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., extrusion, stamping, injection molding).
- Experience with mechanical/environmental testing standards
- Excellent Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional and global team collaboration.
