Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for establishing and leading the financial strategies of the organization, ensuring a strong environment of fiscal responsibility and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. The CFO leads the entire Finance team with strategic direction over financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, accounting, treasury, tax, credit and procurement. This role will work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization’s mission and long-term goals. The CFO ensures that proper financial controls are in place and that financial transactions support the overall business strategy while conforming with applicable laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver clear, timely and actionable financial reporting, analysis, insights, and recommendations to Executive leadership, Board of Directors, and Board of County Commissioners as needed.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit financial standards.
- Collaborates with the CEO to develop and evaluate performance metrics, strategic planning initiatives, operational and capital requirements, and contractual arrangements. Works with the CEO on the preparation and presentation of the annual budget and capital projects
- Manage cash flow, investment strategies, and asset management to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
- Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard organization assets, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors, ensuring timely and accurate annual audits.
- Represent the organization to financial partners, including financial institutions, donors, public officials, auditors, and other various stakeholders as required.
- Maintains a fulltime presence on the job
- Performs other duties as assigned
- This position oversees the entire Finance team, providing leadership mentorship and development.
- Responsible for performance reviews, interviewing, coaching/discipline and daily management of duties.

- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices, and fiscal analysis
- Knowledge of related federal, state and local rules and regulations pertaining to revenue and collection cycles and compliance
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards and grant management
- Knowledge of Quickbooks or other financial management software; advanced Excel skills
- Skill in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the work of personnel. Demonstrate sound judgment
- High level of integrity and commitment to the organization’s mission
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff
- Excellent presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other course of study related to the occupational field required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- MBA or Master’s degree in a related field preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management. Nonprofit experience is a plus
- Minimum of 7 years of leadership or staff management experience
