What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at SJC Cultural Events, Inc.?
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall image of the venues and events managed by SJC Cultural Events, Inc. This position will have custodial duties at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleaning the venue’s grounds by removing rubbish and litter daily
- Restocking consumables
- Responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and housekeeping of all interior areas
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness of restroom facilities, backstage rooms, offices, and kitchen
- Assist maintenance staff with minor maintenance duties
- Operate backpack leaf blower to ensure walkways are free from debris
- Dust surface items up to six (6) feet
- Remove graffiti and stickers throughout site
- Pull all trash from site receptacles and clean them as needed
- Pre-event preparation of the venue, including restocking, trash can liners, and general cleanliness
- Responsible for the inventory of consumables and assist with ordering at all venues and events managed by SJCCE
- Travel and complete assigned duties at both venues- St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall
- Follows St. Johns County Cultural Events, Inc. work rules and procedures
- Other duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge and level of competency associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education
- Experience sufficient to understand the field of work to answer questions and resolve problems
- Must have 1-3 years of experience performing building cleaning needs
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
