DIRECTOR OF SURVEYING SERVICES (LAND SURVEYING), INDIANAPOLIS, IN
SJCA Inc. is seeking an experienced full-time Director of Surveying Services for our Indianapolis, IN office or our Washington, IN office.

The Director of Surveying Services is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and oversight of survey projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization.
Job Duties Include the Following:
* Lead a team of approximately 20 employees, field and office-based, in various locations
- Report to and coordinate with a VP, who is a Professional Surveyor and an Owner
- Technical understanding of INDOT Topographic Surveying, Title Research and Right-of-Way Plan Development procedures
- Complete project scopes and fee proposals
- Ensure projects are delivered timely
- People management, including timesheet and expense report review
- Project Invoicing and Maintenance via Deltek Ajera
- Equipment management and recommendations
- Review technical reports such as Utilization, WIP, Project Workload, etc.
- Business Development and Client Management
- Conference attendance, occasional travel and overnight stays
Minimum Qualifications
· Licensed Indiana Professional Surveyor
· Minimum 10 years of experience.
· Minimum 5 years of direct experience with INDOT and/or ODOT standards/code lists and survey requirements specific to roadway and bridge projects.
· Experience managing projects and managing people
· Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
· Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities
· Contract negotiation experience
· Conflict resolution experience
· Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
· Possess excellent time management skills
· Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
· Proficiency in MicroStation a plus
· A valid driver’s license is required
