About This Opportunity:
This position is responsible for efficiently designing, generating, and maintaining project drawings in a timely manner meeting or exceeding project specifications and budget requirements. As the CAD Designer, you will coordinate with sales, engineering, and production to accurately document components of projects, including necessary information on layout & wiring, field connections, material lists, and installation details. You will work with engineers to translate system concepts and ideas into specific designs. Working knowledge of schematic circuits is desired.
What You Will do:
- Use CAD software to design and create concepts, assembly, and detail drawings which illustrate the product design of a complex nature
- Control panel drawings, including three-line power diagrams, power distribution, relay control circuits, PLC diagrams, and panel layouts
- Working with engineers to translate designs into drawing packages for submittal
- Use AutoCAD to design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for municipal and industrial purposes.
- Convert panel ideas onto relevant title block format to be used as production type drawings.
- Direct and/or perform activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Create fabrication detail drawings to be sent to a metal fabricator for custom enclosures and related accessories.
- Revise drawings for re-submittal or shipping prints and provide laminated drawings, if necessary, to be placed in panels before shipping.
- Responsible for creating PDF files of every drawing that we create or revise to be stored on the network.
- Responsible for AutoCAD file maintenance on the company network.
- Document final changes to products by going to production area, testing area, or jobsite.
- Assist the engraving department with drawings for special custom engraving needs.
- Plot full-size layout plots for cutting templates for door layouts needed by shop when required.
- Provide terminal block lettering on adhesive material for non-standard type terminal blocks when requested by the shop.

Requirements:
- Tools include EPlan, ACAD, and ACADE. Minimum of two (2) years educational and/or work experience with AutoCAD preferred; or adequate AutoCAD training from a school with genuine desire to be trained; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with electrical schematics required.
- Skilled in how to scale drawing layouts for production purposes.
- Basic computer literacy - Microsoft Office, e-mail.
- Desire for accuracy and consistency mandatory; should also have a desire to learn and improve.
- Knowledge of basic drafting principles.
- Candidate should be able to assist in designing electrical equipment and components.
- Ability and desire to work in a hands-on environment and travel up to 15%
