What you will do:
As our Engineering Support Intern, you will assist the Documentation and Quality teams with projects to help improve quality and reduce waste and discrepancies on the production floor where we make products that help control and monitor one of the world’s most valuable and limited resources – water! This position will work in our Detroit Lakes, MN location.
The job:
At our Detroit Lakes facility, Engineering Support Specialists are responsible for the maintenance and control of engineering drawings, bills of materials, technical literature and labels, and other types of engineering documentation kept under revision control. They update all relative information in the company’s MRP system.
The Internship:
As our Engineering Support Intern, you will assist both the Documentation and Quality teams with various projects to help improve the on-time delivery of defective free products. Some of the projects you may assist with or be responsible for are:
- Support Label Overhaul effort by getting proofs verified and copied to IFS
- Clarify Wire Landing Standards and update training materials accordingly
- Upload schematics to IFS, create drawings for purchased, manufactured and equipment component parts
- Review and revise weight discrepancies in IFS
- Help with control plan definitions
- Assist in inventory newness initiative
- Assist with Corrective Action Implementation, Review, and Verification of Effectiveness
The skills you need:
To succeed in this role, you must be willing to listen, observe, and learn the documentation and production processes. You must have attention to detail and be willing to fully participate in the internship experience. You must be a self-starter, independent worker and willing to ask questions. You should be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field such as Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
