As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading the day-to-day operations for our Engineered Control Solutions team at our Vacaville, CA facility. To achieve your goals, you will provide positive leadership and oversight in accordance with corporate objectives to assure maximum efficiency of production, engineering, facilities, capital, and equipment to meet and exceed our customer expectations.
The job:
Every day, your primary role will be to create Unity by providing positive leadership and support to Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Field Service and Project Management Support teams. You will promote Humility by encouraging and empowering team members to work together to meet established goals. You will have the Agility to make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement and will Drive the Operations and Engineering strategy along with value creation plan initiatives. You will take Ownership of operational and financial planning execution by meeting or exceeding divisional metrics focused on budget, safety, and quality.
The key functions:
- Create budget and forecast for bookings, revenue, margins, expenses, and EBITDA.
- Report to upper management on performance during weekly & quarterly meetings.
- Develop growth plans and support the performance management process for all division employees.
- Oversee Design and Software Engineering teams, assisting with problem resolution, training, customer interaction, scheduling and department goals/objectives.
- Provide leadership to the Operations team including assisting with hiring, scheduling, training for technicians and field service.
- Oversee project management and purchasing teams to include purchasing and billing oversight, customer service, parts sales, inventory management, & training.
The first year:
In the first year your goals will be to conduct an organizational assessment, deliver on the P&L and create operational short and long-term strategies tied to SJE’s value creation plan.
The skills you need:
To succeed in this role, you must have experience effectively managing Engineering, Operations and Field Service teams. You must have experience with managing budgets along with P&L. A 4-year degree and 5-10 years of experience leading a technical team and technical selling cycle is preferred.
