POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, and directing our Birmingham and Lakeland Production facilities and personnel to complete the assembling and wiring of industrial control panels, modular electrical buildings, and other engineered produces. As the Production Manager, you will provide guidance and support to Production Team Leaders/Supervisors to deliver on our Brand Promise of being on time, on budget and always informed for both internal and external customers. You will supervise, train, and mentor the Production Team Leaders/Supervisors and help to manage all employees of the department.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, direct, and support the Production Team Leaders and/or Superintendents to ensure they are successful in executing their job functions.
- Supervise, mentor, train, and coach production staff; delegate assignments to ensure maximum productivity.
- Develop, implement, and review production policies and procedures.
- Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes.
- Plan, schedule, and assign location, staff, and time required to complete each delivered product on time and on budget.
- Drive initiatives in each production shop to boost long-term operational excellence.
- Decide how best to use technical workers and equipment to meet production goals and customer requirements.
- Ensure production stays on schedule and within budget.
- Hire, train, and evaluate employees with annual job performance appraisals.
- Assist Production Supervision to monitor employees to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.
- Analyze production data to constantly improve the production process to make it more efficient; create a culture of improvement.
- Provide a positive work environment; motivate and coach the team to operational success.
- Monitor the job utilization of production personnel daily (hours to job assignment, hours to overhead, training, clean-up, meetings, improvement initiatives, employee sick leave, vacation, leaves of absence).
- In effort for continuous improvement with Sales and Estimating, provide production labor estimate feedback to the estimating groups for projects.
- Ensure Quote Plan and Master Pricing Database (MDB) are updated with current SPA’s, Pricing and required labor manhour rates/unit.
- Ensure that work and storage areas are maintained and organized.
- Communicate policies and procedures to production personnel.
- Collaborate and coordinate with engineering to ensure product quality standards and resolve technical issues.
- Serve as a member of various employee committees.
- Represent the Revere solutions/culture/work ethic in all interactions with vendors, customers, potential customers, employees, and potential employees.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience building electrical control panels required, understanding of skilled electrical work in the design, layout, assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels.
- High school or GED required, associate degree or greater preferred.
- Minimum Ten (10) years’ experience in control system integration/control panel fabrication or assembly.
- Two (2) years’ experience in production management, including experience or training in supervision or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of UL508A, the latest revision of the National Electric Code, and production processes.
- Knowledge of current policies and practices of leadership.
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Knowledge of electrical theory as applied to work situations.
- Ability to operate the tools and equipment in the production areas.
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
- Ability to understand and provide verbal and written instructions.
- Strong technical and operational knowledge of electrical systems.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office software.
