What you will do:
As the Sales Manager for our Pumps Division, you will develop and implement impactful sales strategies, nurture customer relationships, and identify new market opportunities to drive growth within the municipal water and wastewater industry. You will also play a key role in shaping marketing strategies, analyzing market trends, and delivering innovative solutions while providing mentorship and leadership to your team. This position works in our Madison, WI location.
The job:
Every day, you will oversee and support your team by developing territory sales plans, conducting sales calls, and fostering strong customer relationships. Collaborating across teams and departments, you will ensure corporate goals are met while tracking and analyzing sales performance through Salesforce. You will lead efforts to identify and pursue new market opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, and drive product promotions. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise through training sessions for both customers and employees and represent our mechanical, pump and hydraulic products at trade shows and industry events. With a hands-on approach to leadership, you will coach, guide and train your team, ensuring clear goals and expectations are met while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement and growth.
The skills you need:
To succeed in this role, you will need a strong combination of leadership, sales, and technical skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for building and maintaining relationships with customers, team members, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of marketing strategies, technical product knowledge (pumps, pump systems, hydraulics, etc.), industry regulations, public bid process, as well as the ability to deliver engaging training sessions. Eleven plus years of experience with a 4-year bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
