PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILTY
The Regional Director (RD) will serve as a child welfare subject matter expert for the respective sub-regional territory. The RD is responsible for advocating for the voices and best interest of children and parents and within the communities Belong serves. The RD will assist also with streamlining communication and collaboration between all parties included in the child welfare system and generate awareness of disproportionality to the communities Belong serves.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain knowledge of Community Based Care and transformative practices within the child and family wellbeing system.
- Provides direction, leadership and supervision to staff to maximize efficiencies and professionalism.
- Focus on continuous improvement, monthly assessing employee’s skill levels and quality of program service delivery.
- Create an atmosphere of enthusiasm, commitment, teamwork, interdependence and ethical behavior.
- Supervise Community Liaison in respective sub-region.
- Collaborate, share, and coordinate available resources with Program Director and program related team members to ensure unique needs of children and families are met.
- Develop and implement community-building strategies that align with identified needs and objectives for youth and family support.
- Build relationships with community groups, organizations, and key stakeholders to foster collaboration and inclusive representation.
- Conduct needs assessments, gap analyses, and engagement activities to understand and address community challenges.
- Organize and facilitate youth and family programs, community events, and resource coordination efforts.
- Develop and manage program budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and track expenditures to ensure financial sustainability.
- Participate in community-driven initiatives that support those we serve.
- Maintains a close working relationship with public and private agencies and stakeholders involved in providing services/support to the children and families in our network, such as CASA, Commissioners Court, Child Welfare Boards, Child Advocacy Centers, Chambers of Commerce, elected officials, etc.
- Implement the Community Building Plan in conjunction with Community Liaison.
- May be required to testify at court hearings.
- Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ensuring confidentiality, ethical data handling, and responsible information sharing in alignment with organizational policies and community trust.
- Responsible for scheduling of staff and approving time off.
- Provides services after normal working hours and on weekends when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
- 5 years in Child Care based field.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
- Valid Texas Driver’s License, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance.
- Minimum age of 21 years per licensing standards.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATION
- Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, walk and walk briskly in order to interact with and monitor children.
- Stamina to work long days and drive long distances.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions (with or without hearing aids).
- Must have fine vision, sustained vision, and peripheral vision (with or without glasses).
- Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments consisting of children with moderate to severe emotional and psychological needs.
- Home-like settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise.
- Light and ventilation are found in a typical home setting.
- Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas.
- Possible injury when lifting or moving if employee fails to use proper body mechanics, or if proper techniques are not used.
