SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Technician supporting construction operations within a local healthcare facility.
SJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 150 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; it specializes in professional services to support federal and military organizations.
The Salary range for this position is $65,000- $70,000. SJS also offers 11 paid federal holidays, 80 hours of PTO accrual, medical, dental, vision, and a variety of additional benefits.
Responsibilities :
Perform drawing and field verifications, and markup and make changes to hardcopies provided as necessary.
Act as a procurement liaison, developing acquisition materials for new or existing procurements, option year renewals including scopes of work, cost estimates, market research and other VAR / FAAR documents.
Develop compliance management schedules for life safety, and environment of care elements of performance including inspection reports, frequency, and due dates. Provides reminders to contracted staff and VA maintenance and operations supervisors on deliverables based on scopes of work provided.
Adds preventative maintenance into Maximo based on contractor deliverables of fire alarm, generator and electrical systems, medical gas, elevator transport, legionella, HVAC and water treatment.
Audit equipment in the field and enter data in Maximo for facility maintenance assets, preventative maintenance, and parts and materials.
Provide training to FM staff on means and methods to add job plans, parent preventative maintenance plans and best practices in Maximo.
This position will typically occur on new construction and / or renovation projects. In such situations, the person in this role may serve as the lead manager for the site team and be responsible for the day-to-day project management activities of that team for the duration of a given project or projects.
Requirements :
Possess at least 10 years of specialized construction experience with a focus on field-based construction management with at least 3 of those years must be in healthcare construction.
Proficiency in AutoDesk systems including AutoCAD and REVIT.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Experience with ADA compliant construction, remodeling, and renovations
Full knowledge of engineering and architectural concepts, principles, and practices for the design, layout, and construction of medical facilities, associated buildings, parking, roadways, and site utilities.
Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
