Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Water Quality Supervisor, the operator conducts all flushing activities for TWC’s operations system. Provide long and short tap consultations with customers. Provide support and assist Water Quality personnel to include Compliance Sampling, routine sampling, and customer complaints as assigned by Supervisor and/or Superintendent.
Specific Responsibilities
Coordinates with dispatch (supervisor) any customer complaints regarding dirty water or air in the lines.
Flush water mains, dead end mains and hydrants within the (ALL) TWC systems.
Maintains required certifications and licenses and meets the continuing education needs and requirements of the position to include, attending mandatory training courses.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Superintendent.
Responsible for documentation of sample results and analysis and other record keeping assigned.

Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
The operator is relied upon to coordinate main flushing processes within the water distribution to ensure water quality and compliance with TCEQ regulations.
Major duties require the frequent use of:
Initiative, independent judgment, and contact with personnel within and outside of TWC.
Maintain composure and commitment to work during periods of stress and heavy workload.
Demonstrate receptivity to new ideas and approaches and adapt with flexibility to accommodate any changes in priorities or circumstances.
Required Education and Experience
Must possess a Class C Water Operator license or have the ability to obtain the license within two years of accepting the position.
A valid Texas Driver's License and satisfactory driving record are required to operate a company vehicle.
Extensive knowledge of TWC’s water distribution operation systems.
