Reporting to the Sr. Director, Human Resources, the Director of Plant Human Resources drives and supports strategic initiatives at all SK Food Group manufacturing facilities. Provides leadership to plant human resource teams to ensure consistent execution of best practice processes, policies and programs. Facilitates a coaching culture focused on strong leadership and associate growth and development.
This role is targeted to be based out of either Phoenix, Arizona, Columbus, Ohio, or Reno, Nevada. Candidates outside these areas must be open to relocation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Operations leaders to implement and drive strategies and programs that enhance associate engagement and support a positive culture.
- As a champion of change and continuous improvement, drive a positive culture with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion, associate development and a service focused Human Resources team.
- Oversee and ensure documentation of associate investigations around complaints, harassment and other reported associate relations issues.
- Provide counsel and guidance to Operations leadership and HR teams around progressive discipline and performance development. Ensure proper documentation and reporting of forms and documentation.
- Strategize effective plant recruiting and staffing efforts to support manufacturing and business objectives.
- Provide support and coaching to management in the implementation of policies and company initiatives.
- Coach and develop plant leadership to ensure development opportunities and succession plans are in place for plant teams.
- Oversee and ensure the completion of performance review programs at the plants to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization.
- Ensure compliance with Family Medical Leave, ADA, and state leave guidelines, procedures and documentation. Ensure leaves are documented and tracked appropriately in HRIS system (ADP).
- Partnering with corporate HR Leadership, prepare and manage budgets for the plant Human Resources departments.
- Ensure plant Human Resources teams follow company processes, procedures and comply with federal and state laws.
- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related field, and at least ten years of Human Resources leadership experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Multi-Plant Human Resource Leadership experience is preferred, preferably in a CPG and/or manufacturing environment.
- SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Requires extensive knowledge and demonstrated ability handling complex human resources and employee relations for multisite/multistate manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to build strong partnerships with human resources and business leaders across the organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR best practices & processes, ability to stay up to date on emerging trends.
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency and business acumen.
- Ability to understand, quickly react and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization environment.
- Strong understanding of applicable federal and state employment laws and government agencies.
- Experience successfully leading others, developing and motivating others, and influencing change.
- Solid organizational and prioritization skills including proven attention to detail.
- Strong experience collaborating with cross functional teams, defining problems, establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions and delivering workable solutions.
- Must be able to travel 30-40% to support multi-site operations.
