Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting social interaction and engagement.
- Monitor and document client health status, including vital signs and any changes in condition.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medication management.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of care provided.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety at all times.
- Support clients with memory care needs, utilizing appropriate techniques for effective communication.
- Perform catheter care and other personal hygiene tasks as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to understand medical records is beneficial.
- Strong observational skills for monitoring patient conditions and recognizing changes.
- Familiarity with caregiving techniques, particularly in memory care settings.
- Ability to administer medications safely and effectively.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
- Must be able to pass background checks and meet any state-specific requirements for home health aides.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide or equivalent training is a plus.
