What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coding Instructor position at SK LEARNING CENTER LLC?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Coding Instructor to join our team of passionate educators. As a key member of our innovative educational program, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring the next generation of young coders. The ideal candidate will be motivated to foster a positive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive, develop critical thinking skills, and gain a love for technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Engaging Curriculum: Design and implement lesson plans that introduce kids to coding concepts in an interactive and fun way, while aligning with educational standards and goals.
- Facilitate Active Learning: Lead dynamic coding sessions that encourage hands-on exploration, group collaboration, and student participation, keeping kids excited about learning to code.
- Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess students’ coding skills and understanding through both informal and formal evaluations. Provide constructive feedback and personalized support to help students achieve their learning objectives.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other educators to refine teaching techniques, share resources, and create a seamless learning experience across different classes and age groups.
- Manage Student Records: Maintain up-to-date records on student progress, attendance, and achievements. Ensure all reporting is in line with school or institution policies.
- Professional Growth: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest coding languages, educational tools, and innovative teaching strategies.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Education: A degree from a recognized university is preferred, ideally in computer science, education, or a related field. If you have coding experience but no formal degree, we still encourage you to apply.
- Teaching Experience: Prior experience in teaching or tutoring is a plus, but passion and the willingness to learn can make up for lack of experience.
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Scratch, JavaScript, or similar beginner-friendly coding platforms is desirable. Experience with game design or web development tools for kids is also a plus.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex coding concepts in simple, engaging ways to children. Comfort with both in-person and virtual instruction is a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to juggle lesson planning, student assessments, and class administration while maintaining a focus on student success.
- Student-Centered: A genuine commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where all students feel encouraged to take risks and grow in their coding abilities.
