General Summary :
Team Member This is an hourly (non-exempt) position reporting to the Team Leader. This team member operates and maintains equipment in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for meeting plant targets for safety, quality, efficiency and cost reduction.
II. Essential Job Function :
A. Works in a manufacturing environment emphasizing teamwork, safety, quality, training and discipline.
B. Follows standardized work procedures and work sequence for each process.
C. Works with Team Leader to improve standardized processes / methods, identify waste, methodically eliminate waste and standardize the new process / methods.
D. Directly responsible for performance of assigned work area.
E. Works in a team environment on safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.
F. Completes all working documentation, records and reports as requested.
G. Understands all SAIA policies and procedures.
H. Is proactive and reactive to resolve abnormalities in the process.
I. Uses key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.
J. Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or G.E.D. Required.
Experience : One to two years experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
Person / Technical Skills :
A. Focuses on employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.
B. Demonstrates a personality that works in cooperation with other team members towards Building a sense of company teamwork.
C. Focuses on continually improving skills as outlined during performance review.
D. Attends all required training as outlined on the training matrix.
E. Basic math skills are required.
Language : Good verbal and written communication skills.
IV. Work Environment
Office : Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Plant : Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, etc. May be required in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply.
V. Physical Demands
While performing duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, hear, walking and standing. Team member must be able to stand for long periods of time. Assembly line processes require repetitive

motion and may require reaching with the arms, gripping heavy pushing, pulling, squeezing and pinching with the hands. Occasionally lifting of seats / equipment up to 30 lbs.
