Ska Fabricating is an equipment manufacturing company specializing in packaging automation. Our customers exist in a wide range of industries - from beer to kombucha to peanut butter and paint. Put simply, if they have a product that needs to be canned or bottled, we help them do that more efficiently with our heavy-duty, reliable packaging machinery.
Ska Fabricating is searching for an Assembly Technician to construct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems for custom factory automation equipment. This role participates in the coordination and integration of equipment and involves working with mechanical design engineers, controls engineers while being a part of a small, fast-paced, quality-driven team responsible for building and crating products to meet production and customer demands.
Job Required Capabilities:
· 2 Years experience in an assembly production operation.
· Able to lift 50 pounds
· Working knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and material handling.
· Able to stand during shift
· Able to work outside in varying weather and conditions
· Able to work under minimum supervision
· Conceptual skills, great verbal communication, functional and technical skills
· Read and interpret drawings and blueprints
· Devise a plan for the build of complex assemblies
· Troubleshoot mechanical issues
· Ability to operate forklift for equipment unloading and unloading on truck
· Basic computer skills
· Has drivers license or reliable transportation to work.
· Is mechanically inclined
· Is a team player with the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
· Is self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing time effectively
Basic Functions of Position:
· Complete work in accordance with established safety procedures
· Assembling machines and complex subassemblies by following work instructions and utilizing prescribed tools to ensure repeatable product quality.
· Verifying adherence to specifications by testing/measuring completed assemblies.
· Documenting actions by completing production and quality forms.
· Supporting material handling operations by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, and requesting orders for supplies.
· Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing results as needed and assisting others to accomplish overall goals.
· Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
· Building crates for packaging equipment, as well as packing all associated equipment and securing it inside the crate for safe transport
· Safely operate hand tools and power tools such as drills, nail guns, circular saws, grinders, etc.
· Manage multiple simultaneous projects including shipments in an organized fashion
· Keep track of project documents including travelers and shipping documentation
Compensation: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour dependent on skills, qualifications, and previous experience.
This is a first shift position 4 days/week. Monday through Thursday weekly 5:00am – 3:00pm
This is an hourly paid non-exempt position eligible for overtime.
