Ska Fabricating is an equipment manufacturing company specializing in packaging automation. Our customers exist in a wide range of industries - from beer to kombucha to peanut butter and paint. Put simply, if they have a product that needs to be canned or bottled, we help them do that more efficiently with our heavy-duty, reliable packaging machinery.
Ska Fabricated is looking for a motivated full-time Electrical Assembly Technician to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI.
Responsibilities
· Build electrical control panel based on electrical drawings, Bills of Materials, assembly instructions, schematics, diagrams, and verbal instruction.
· Organize, route, and bundle wires and cables neatly according to established electrical standards.
· Label components and wires/cable in accordance with established standards and documentation.
· Coordinate with Purchasing and Production Planner to maintain stocked inventory and plan special order components.
· Troubleshoot electrical issues.
· Identify and assist in process improvement idea development and implementation.
· Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and best practices.
· Assist in other areas of manufacturing as needed.
· Attention to detail and taking pride in your work is a must
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment
· Complete work in accordance with established safety procedures
· Good communication/listening skills
Requirements:
· Minimum 2 years work experience in electrical assembly
· Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and assembly drawings.
· Prior control panel building experience preferred.
· Ability to use electrical multi-meter.
· Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
· Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens hardware preferred but not required.
· Basic math skills.
· Knowledge of industry standards for electrical control panels including commonly used concepts, acceptable practices, standard, and codes including but not limited to NEMA, UL, IEC, etc.
· Strong troubleshooting skills. Ability to logically work through an issue to determine the root cause and make recommendations on possible solutions.
· Excellent communication skills.
· High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Base Compensation: $21 - $26/hour depending on experience
This is a first shift position 4 days/week. Monday through Thursday weekly 5:00am – 3:00pm
This is an hourly paid non-exempt position eligible for overtime.
