Other information : Job Summary
Responsible for business or clinical application systems analysis and modifying existing data systems. Provides the skills and tools for planning and provides the coordination, communication and project structure between clients of Information Systems services and third party software vendors or programmers; assists in the planning and direction of information systems projects; provides systems and installation support; and provides user training. These responsibilities span multiple entities including hospitals, home services and physician clinics. Escalates critical issues and problems to the Director / Information Systems. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes a team concept and reflects the SVH mission and philosophy.
Essential Functions
Defines and organizes user department system requirements for automating information systems in specific application areas. Formalize specifications in documents that include detailed functional and operational designs, standard work plans, data flows, and sample reports.Identifies, analyzes, designs, tests, and implements improvements to existing information systems and associated procedures.Consults and provides recommendations to staff and management on system design issues.Coordinates software and hardware vendors and users to satisfy system requirements, and organizes installation and support.Investigates, resolves and performs follow up tasks on system and related problems.Conducts meetings with all levels of staff and management to address and resolve issues and procedures associated with information system installations and support. Assists in feasibility studies and cost / benefit analysis.Documents the departmental work flow, system decisions, system designs and procedures.Conducts training for user personnel on application features and procedures.Supports and trains supporting data processing staff. Advises staff on the procedures and operations of new or revised systems and applications.Implements and controls system security functions.Analyzes and designs administrative and application report requests using reporting tools and data base structures.Serves as an on-call resource for resolving operational issues and questions which cannot be addressed by department based resources.Conducts integrated system testing of all system functions and interfaces.Maintains working knowledge of departmental functions with user areas being supported by information systems.Acts as a resource for user applications and design questions for all existing and proposed information systems.Complies with all SVH policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned by Director or Designee.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, other related area preferred.
Experience / Training
Minimum of three (3) years of general systems analysis experience.
License / Certifications
None.
