MRI Technologist - Per Diem

Essential Functions

• Performs direct patient care, utilizing established policies, procedures and standards.
• Administers contrast and IV's according to policy and procedure.
• Accurately executes provider orders according to policies and procedures.
• Performs indirect patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards.
• Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate persons in a timely manner.
• Performs accurate and timely documentation according to SVH guidelines.
• Adhere to ASRT, ARMRIT and ARRT standards of practice.
• Able to work independently and unsupervised and be available for regular emergency standby coverage off-hours and on weekends.
• Availability to work at multiple locations.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff according to policies and procedures.
• Ensures that supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner.
• Demonstrates correct and safe techniques in the use of equipment according to specific product information.
• Follows appropriate procedures for obtaining and returning or cleaning/disposing of equipment and supplies.
• Participates in economical utilization of supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner.
• Adheres to Diagnostic Imaging policies. Does not incur excessive overtime.
• Complies with specific SVH policies and procedures concerning safety.
• Assists patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respects their confidentiality and privacy and communicates with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
• Answers and refers telephone calls or other inquires to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
• Identifies him/herself in a pleasant and positive manner. T
• akes responsibility for helping the caller and/or visitor.
• Assists in the orientation/training of new Team Members.
• Consistently works in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow Team Members.
• Assists other Team Members in the performance of their assignments.

Education

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology training program.
• Skagit Valley Hospital is a DNV certified Primary Stroke Center. Required to complete 1 hour of stroke education annually.

Experience/Training

Minimum one (1) year prior experience preferred.

License/Certifications

• Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) required.
• ARRT candidates are preferred to have Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Certification.
• ARRT candidates are required to attain MR certification within 1 year of hire and maintain a current Washington State Radiologic Technologist license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS required.
