What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Lead Saw Filer position at Skagit River Reman?
Skagit River Reman is currently hiring for a full time Journeyman Lead Saw Filer position. We are looking for someone with experience that can help lead and supervise our current saw filers. Days and Hours are slightly flexible for the right applicant to help work around their schedule.
Summary: Safely maintain and repair all bandsaws used in sawmill and planer mill operations.
Essential Functions:
- Grind, swage, shape and bench stellite bandsaws
- Assist in troubleshooting saw issues such as lumber marking, snaking, or off size lumber
- Maintain stock of round saws
- Order filing room supplies as needed
- Complete a monthly inventory of bandsaws
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years experience in bandsaw filing is required, pay is dependent on experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Understanding of sawmill/planer mill manufacturing operations
- Observe all safety rules
- Must be dependable and show ability to follow directions
