Barista
The Barista plays a vital role in the daily success of Skald Coffee’s Café and Skald Eats food truck. Excellent customer service, attention to detail, the ability to work as a team and self-motivation are some of the key skills that are needed to succeed in this role. You are the person that the customer first sees when they walk through the door and leaves a lasting impression.

Essential Functions
- Providing excellent customer service, including greeting the customer’s first thing when they enter the café.
- Treating every customer with respect and care.
- Taking care of customers’ complaints according to Skald policy.
- Taking orders, writing on cups, adding flavors, prepping frappes.
- Pulling shots, steaming milk, finishing blended or energy drinks.
- Completing pick-up orders.
- Rotating milks, writing date on opened milks.
- Keeping machines clean.
- Heating breakfast burritos, bagels, cookies etc.
- Write accurate receival dates on food items brought over from the Skald Food Truck or pulled from the freezer.
- This list includes the opening and closing of the till, stocking, cleaning, restocking café from storage area located in the hallway, cleaning café tables, doing dishes, etc.
- Completing weekly / daily inventories of the café items as needed.
- Notifying supervisor of low stock items in sufficient time to resupply.
- Keeping an accurate record of inventory sold in Skald from Shield
- Completing Skald Eats food truck training.
- Working shifts in the Skald Eats food truck or covering breaks and lunches as needed.
- When working in the food truck following the direction of the Food Truck supervisor or shift lead.

Role Requirements
- Valid ServeSafe Certification – Required.
- 1-2 barista or food truck experience.
- 2-3 years of Customer service experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Learn new, basic software programs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time in performance of duties.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with a team in an effective, professional, and valuable way.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
