As an Annealer, you will be trained on how to heat-treat aluminum sheets or coils to relieve stresses, soften the material, and improve its formability and quality, ensuring the final product meets the required specifications. Hours: 5:45pm- 6am (2-2-3 schedule)
COMPETENCIES: (i.e., to be defined in terms of required education, training, skills, and/or experience)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to work with others as a team
- Forklift Certification
- Ability to use and understand precision measurement instruments
- Ability to understand and follow safety practices and work instructions
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (i.e., functions, authorities, tasks, etc.)
- Check Shop orders to compile load of same recipe, Check allow, and temper/ load weight.
- Load furnace car with coils per work instructions using forklift
- Check shop order for heat temperatures (make sure if coils are stacked and they are chained)
- Set work temperature
- Set air temperature for 50°C higher than work temperature
- Install thermal couplers into coils
- Push load into furnace and seal door
- Wire load to panel
- Start furnace per work instructions
- Monitor load temps and document when soak temp is obtained.
- Once soak is complete shut down furnace and pull load.
- Move coils from coil car to cooling area fans using forklift.
- Complete all paperwork/reporting
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership.
- Comply with the Company's quality management system requirements
- Willingness to cross train
- Advocate for continuous improvement projects
- Fill in at the rolling Mill as required to cover absences
