What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slitter Trucker position at Skana Aluminum Co?
Skana Aluminum is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Slitter Trucker to join our production team. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of materials within our facility. The Slitter Trucker will be responsible for operating forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move aluminum coils and products to and from the slitting area, as well as assisting in the setup, operation, and maintenance of slitting equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a passion for working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to work with others as a team
- Work experience desired
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for transporting coils to and from the slitter
- Check oil/coolant levels and fill as needed
- Responsible for transporting (pickup, tag, and move) scrap from the slitter
- Mop and clean oil from area as directed/needed.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Comply with the Company’s quality management system requirements
- Willingness to cross train
- Advocate for continuous improvement projects
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Interface internally with employees.
- Interface externally with the general public.
WORK ENVRIONMENT:
This position is in a plant environment which includes frequent exposure to heat, noise, moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic. You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses and safety shoes.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- 1st shift (5am- 2pm) Monday- Friday and OT on Saturdays
