Facilities Manager
Nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York, Skaneateles Fields Resort & Spa offers a spectacular scenic escape that delivers unforgettable culinary, wellness, and recreational experiences.
The Facilities Manager will oversee all maintenance operations, including day to day activity of the maintenance staff, maintaining the building, grounds/landscaping and preventive maintenance with attention towards safety, security and asset protection.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversees the Grounds and Building Maintenance to include proper installation, repair, and maintenance of all hotel equipment, including heating, air conditioning, ice machines, fire extinguishers, fire/smoke alarms, lawn sprinklers, and plumbing.
- Ensures swimming pool and hot tub/spa maintenance duties are performed according to manufacturer specifications and local Health Department Regulations.
- Develops, coordinates, and monitors a maintenance program to ensure the safety, security and comfort of staff and guests. Ensures an aggressive “guest first” attitude among team members.
- Maintains a work order assignment program for completed and pending work orders. Prioritizes and completes work orders in a timely manner.
- Monitors work of vendors or contractors
- Oversee property sanitation and grounds landscaping.
- Educates and leads all department personnel on emergency procedures, key control, and safety.
- Trains, develops and reviews the performance of department personnel.
- Manage weekly schedule and payroll submissions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ experience in engineering, maintenance or related professional discipline.
- Minimum of five years' management experience.
- Ability to drive a Fork Lift or Lull, a plus
- Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of building systems, equipment, maintenance practices.
- Must obtain and maintain any licenses or certificates as required by law.
- Knowledge of machines, computers, tools and other equipment, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Experience with Kaba ilco (door access control)
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
