POSITION SUMMARY
The Cashier performs a variety of duties with primary focus on excellent customer service and manage all tasks accurately, efficiently, and according to the company policies. This position is responsible for cleaning and inspection of the concession- dining area, skate rental- bathrooms, floor guards- parking lot and cashier-office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Warmly greet customers and guests as they enter and leave.
2. Respond professionally and communicates clearly to requests and inquiries from customers and staff.
3. Educate customers on sale prices and any promotions/events the rink is offering.
4. Accurately handles cash and register transactions. Processing the sales using a POS system or cash register. Accept payment and accurately calculate change when necessary.
5. Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change if necessary.
6. Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts. Complete any revenue/reports if required or requested by management. Close drawers as needed at the end of the shift.
7. Keep office neat, clean and stocked during scheduled shifts. Ensure that is it a clean organized work environment for the next shift.
8. Pick up debris and spillage promptly, cleaning and disinfecting areas as necessary.
9. Monitoring skaters and enforcing all policies, when necessary.
10. Assists managers with supervision of programs and activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
1. Ability to stand for long periods of time
2. Ability to accurately count change and to successfully operate computerized POS cash register.
3. Ability to communicate with customers and respond in prompt and courteous manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be energetic and possess a very friendly, outgoing personality and positive attitude.
2. Ability to multi-task and perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
3. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
4. Possess a strong customer service focus and customer service skills to be able to work with little or no supervision.
5. Possess a willingness to learn.
6. Must be a team player.
7. Must have the ability to be firm with participants when necessary, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants, facilities and equipment.
8. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and/or written instructions efficiently and effectively.
9. Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
