Job Summary:
Skeletal Dynamics is a fast-growing medical device company, that designs, and markets innovative orthopedic devices sold on a worldwide basis. As a Production and Operations Planner, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing our production and operational processes at our Strategic Manufacturing Facility in Bonita Springs, FL. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive production plans, ensuring timely execution of schedules, and communicating with customers. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams across the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedule based on orders, sales forecasts, and capacity constraints.
- Ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routers in the ERP system to accurately define the components, materials, and processes required for production.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding order status, expediting, and any potential delays or issues, ensuring prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement inventory management policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Utilize ERP systems and other tools to track production activities, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate production plans, performance metrics, and key insights to stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to production and operations planning.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in projects to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
· 2-3 yrs. experience in production planning, inventory management, or operations planning role within a manufacturing or similar industry.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
· Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Excel, and other planning tools/software.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
