Job Description:
The General Operator will be responsible for maintaining tight tolerances on various machines to manufacture industrial and aerospace piston rings. This involves performing milling, turning, boring, and abrasive machining procedures, as well as transporting materials and completing dipping, coating, and wrapping of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and process sheets
- Performing various machining procedures
- Transporting materials and completing product processing
- Using calipers and micrometers daily
- Working within tight tolerances per production routers
- Assisting others in developing methods and procedures
- FOLLOWING ALL PLANT SAFETY RULES AND PROCEDURES
- FOLLOWING ALL 5S AND LEAN MANUFACTURING PRINCIPLES
- Communicating with department lead and supervisor regularly
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Requires continuous attention to operations
- Attention to detail
- Ability to use, understand, and interpret caliper and micrometer readings
- Manufacturing operator experience a plus
- Flexibility with work hours during training period
- Ability to stand for 8-hours per day, 5-days a week
- Ability to lift 35-pounds (anything over 35-pounds will use lift assist or team lift)
