Responsibilities
- Define proper manufacturing process steps for new and existing engineered products
- Track variances and perform root cause analysis, implementing corrections/countermeasures as needed to improve standards
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research; applying knowledge of product design, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
- Develop standard manufacturing processes to minimize process and quality variations (standard work)
- Develop and maintain appropriate written manufacturing procedures to ensure knowledge capture and transfer
- Design and specify tooling and fixtures needed to manufacture products
- Lead manufacturing engineering projects and process improvements
- Develop and maintain equipment Total Productive and Preventative Maintenance Program
- Plan and oversee layout of manufacturing equipment and production facilities and capital projects
- Conduct studies in operations to optimize work flow and spatial utilization
- Ensure facility efficiency and workplace safety
