Position Title: Ski Technician

Reports To: Rental Shop Manager

Supervises: N/A

Summary of Position


Ski Rental Technician is to check tension of the release for the safety of customers. Technician will interact heavily with guests. Team Member will exhibit excellent customer service skills in properly fitting guests with ski rental equipment. Individual binding certifications will be necessary to adjust skis. Certification clinics will be conducted at Ski Apache. Duties include but are not limited to: cleaning and organizing the shop to professionally conduct business, assist guests in putting on their ski boots, fill out all necessary information on rental contracts, and conduct inventory control to properly send out and receive ski rental equipment.

  • Reports all situations to Supervisor or Manager where resort grounds or equipment do not meet IMGR&C standards.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and are subject to change at management’s discretion:
  • Repairs and maintains rental equipment; repairs and services guest equipment.
  • Long hours on feet working on concrete floor.
  • Lifting and carrying equipment as well as boxes of rental forms & brochures.
  • Ensures all paperwork is completed properly.
  • Cleaning, including mopping.
  • Good Customer relation skills.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Must be able to maintain the physical requirements of the job; Must have proven record of dependability; Mescalero Apache Tribal Preference; bicultural experience preferred; Must pass a pre-employment drug screening; Must pass a pre-employment criminal background investigation. Must be 16 years of age or older. (under the age of 18 must have a parental consent and must be present at the time of hire)

  • Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. Must be able to use hand held communications devices. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The team member must be able to stand for several hours.

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays during winter months.
  • Must be able to work long hours during winter months.
  • Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

The noise level in the work environment is loud. The team member will be exposed to a second-hand smoke-filled environment. The team member may be exposed to biohazardous fluids such as blood and other body fluids. The team member may be exposed to hostile environments with guest. May be subject to high stress environments.
