Skiatook Public Schools is seeking applicants for a High School Assistant Principal for the 2025-2026 school year.

Position Title: Assistant Principal
Site: Skiatook High School
Reports To: Site Administrator
Supervises Students, teacher assistants.
Required: Master’s degree in educational leadership and a valid Oklahoma teacher certificate for the position.
Position Summary: The High School Assistant Principal assists the building principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff and parents. This includes such responsibilities as: leading, directing, counseling, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective parent, teacher, and child communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff; fostering teamwork between teachers and among staff and parents; and managing budget items. The assistant principal acts in the capacity of the principal during the principal’s absence from the school.
This position will require working occasionally after regular school hours to supervise extra-curricular activities as assigned by the HS Principal.
Supervisory Relationship: The principal supervises the assistant principals, who supervises licensed teachers and support staff as assigned.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience, plus 3 years related administrative experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in supervision and administration preferred.
- Excellent human relations skills, speaking and writing skills.
- Knowledgeable of current public school laws.
- Successful experience working with middle school students.
- Previous experience working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
- Training and/or experience in group facilitation and process management.

Title 1 District- Skiatook Public Schools is a Title 1 district. Under the Teacher Loan Forgiveness (TLF) Program, if you teach full time for five complete and consecutive academic years in a low-income school or educational service agency, and meet other qualifications, you may be eligible for forgiveness of up to $17,500 on your Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans and your Subsidized and Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans.
