Secondary History Teacher Position
Skiatook Public Schools is seeking a qualified Secondary History Teacher for the upcoming school year.
Job Summary
This position involves planning and instructing students in lessons designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, apply language, mathematical, reasoning skills, and knowledge of current educational research.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach District Approved Curriculum
- Create a classroom environment that fosters learning and caters to students' maturity and interests
- Prepare for assigned classes
- Ensure student, equipment, material, and facility safety
- Employ diverse instructional techniques and media, adapting to location and student needs
- Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and communicate objectives to students
- Implement policies and rules governing student life and conduct, develop fair classroom rules, and maintain order
- Evaluate pupil growth, keep records, and prepare progress reports
- Encourage students to set and maintain classroom behavior standards
- Aware of individual learning needs, provide accommodations, and seek specialist assistance as required
- Maintain accurate records as per law, district policy, and regulations
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, as needed
- Pursue professional development and improvement
