Quality Engineer

Position Overview: The Quality Engineer will ensure that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications in a sheet metal aerospace facility. This role involves conducting First Article Inspections (FAI), final inspections, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the production team to identify and resolve quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and final inspections to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, work instructions, and quality reports.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and other relevant aerospace quality standards.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non-conformances.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Monitor and analyze quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Provide training and support to production staff on quality-related topics.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the aerospace industry.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or a related certification.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and materials.
