What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Based Inclusion Specialist position at Skill and Ability Education?
The Inclusion Specialist for Skill & Ability Education will work on behalf of individuals with barriers to independence. This includes assisting individuals with building vocational skills, increasing socialization and recreational opportunities and providing access to community integration.
This role is intended to provide direct service to support clients in achieving their Vocational and Community Living goals. One who fills this role must be committed to disability awareness/advocacy, and strongly in support of creating inclusive work environments for all. Must be a team player invested in creative solutions to eliminating work barriers.
This role will require a varied schedule, based on client needs. The Full Time Inclusion Specialist will work up to 40 hours a week, including 5 days per week, up to 8 hours per day. The schedule will be determined by a supervisor based on client and staff availability.
ESSENTIAL POSITION COMPONENTS & FUNCTIONS:
The Inclusion Specialist position consists of the following job responsibilities:
- Provide Community Living Services aligned with the client’s goal as identified in the Individual Plan of Service (IPOS).
- Support individuals with increasing opportunities for independence and community integration with recreation, leisure and socialization opportunities.
- Provide job coaching and skill building services in accordance with a unit based fee for service authorization.
- Assist clients in retaining employment opportunities aligned with their strengths and interests.
- Support clients in their vocational success at job sites in the community.
- Support clients in building skills, such as work readiness and self-advocacy through facilitating workshops.
- Assess and identify client needs while providing evidence-based intervention as necessary.
- Communicate with employers regarding ADA and formal accommodation requests to ensure client success.
- Communicate with clients’ support systems regarding their progress.
- Collaborate with employers and community partners to promote employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities.
- Complete documentation for all services rendered in an accurate and timely manner.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $41,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
