Senior Accountant
We are a leading healthcare payment integrity company dedicated to improving financial efficiency within the healthcare industry with an AI end to end platform. Our team helps healthcare organizations optimize payment accuracy, ensure compliance, and enhance financial performance. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team.
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting practices. This position requires someone who can lead accounting activities, provide insight into financial reporting, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience in healthcare or a related field, and familiarity with the regulatory environment. Experience at a big four accounting firm and holding a CPA are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses to support decision-making by senior management.
- Responsible for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Manage and review general ledger reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure adherence to all financial and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
- Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, healthcare-specific regulations, and other applicable financial laws.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with experience with healthcare or financial technology companies.
- Experience at a Big Four accounting firm is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements within the healthcare industry.
- Proven ability to manage or support accounting activities including month-end close, payroll, and reporting/compliance activities.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
