Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

An esteemed Skilled Nursing Facility in the Cheektowaga area is seeking a qualified and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our Director of Nursing with daily responsibilities and contribute to delivering exceptional care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Nursing Services in managing day-to-day operations while maintaining high-quality care standards.
• Conduct weekly wound/skin rounds to ensure optimal care for residents.
• Promote effective communication and foster a collaborative work environment among nursing staff.
• Address the nursing and medical needs of residents, ensuring their well-being and comfort.
• Be on call 24/7 to provide leadership and support when needed.
• Oversee and coordinate comprehensive planning for nursing services.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of nursing theory and practices to ensure best practices are followed.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of medical records, adhering to all relevant regulations.
• Assist in recruitment, hiring, and orientation of new nursing staff.
• Manage daily staffing processes and infection control measures to ensure highest standards of care.
• Adapt to unpredictable scheduling needs, providing leadership during times of change.

Qualifications:

• Current State RN license required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Long-Term Care settings required.
• Preferred: 2 years management experience.
• Preferred: 1 year experience in staff education.
• Strong communication skills and ability to foster a positive, efficient work environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Flexibility in hours essential to meet facility needs.
