CNC Machinist
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
This position is responsible for operating CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate precision parts per engineering specifications. Working knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with precision measuring tools are required. The ability to read blueprint specifications and check parts for conformance is required. Operators may run more than one unit simultaneously.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Uses tools such as edge finders, indicators, and probes, to find machine work offsetsRuns parts that meet engineering specifications without supervisionReads, understands and interprets engineering and manufacturing drawings with workingknowledge of GD&T
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and informs the lead person of discrepanciesVerifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using standard measuring toolsLearns and can recognize machine deviation versus cutter or holding problems and informssupervisor
Thoroughly inspects first part run with mid to high level of complexityMeets job standard times consistently and communicates when not in conformanceEnsure part count and data entry is accurate and correct on a consistent basisAccurately complete and maintain all paperworkFollows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety proceduresCan solve routine problems and demonstrates some advanced problem-solving abilityCommunicates discrepancies, non-conformances, and deviations to supervisorOther duties as assignedQualifications :
Excellent and / or correctable visionAbility to accomplish tasks and follow directions without deviation from proceduresRequires a high school diploma / GED or graduation from a certified technical schoolMust be highly motivated and able to work independently with strong attention to detail3 to 5 years of related experience preferredMust be able to use the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos, and instructions)Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use essential handheld measuring toolsWork Environment :
Climate-controlled clean production environment. In this position, you are primarily standing with an option of sitting throughout the shift.
