Position Title: Business Office Manager

Summary:
Supervise, coordinate, perform, and direct all financial affairs of the facility using generally accepted account principles, including accounting, business office, billing and reimbursement, credit and collections, and other financial matters to maintain the financial objectives, policies and procedures of the facility under the direction of the Administrator.
Qualifications:
- Related administrative and accounting experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job. Business College preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn applicable software.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with employees.
- Must maintain regular attendance.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable: Duties- Maintain past due per bed and Day Sales Outstanding with established guidelines; pursues pat due accounts persistently and maintain proper back-up documentation; obtain and summit all required documentation to third party payers as per policy and established guidelines; accurately bills room and board, ancillary charges: discuss all problem collections with the Administrator and resolves within established time frames. Maintain systems to prevent accounts from becoming past due.
- MONIES: Duties- Maintain resident trust fund according to Federal, state, and Company guidelines; properly safeguard resident funds and valuables entrusted to the business office; and deposit all funds received per Company policy.
- Prepare, Submit, Receive, And Verify Reports: Duties- Complete and maintain accurate census reports; verify information on in-coming reports and resolve discrepancies per established guidelines. Submit information and reports on a timely basis.
- Supervision of Business Office: Duties- Develop specific plans for the operation of the business office. Delegate and train office staff as necessary to perform assigned duties. Establish good working relationships with other department; establish sound priorities in task accomplishment, act decisively to meet established schedules and deadlines.
- Residents’ Rights and Positive Relationships: Duties- Demonstrate strong ethical practices regarding individual/residents’ rights. Provide education to staff, physicians and family members concerning sensitivity and compliance with regard to Resident Rights. Promote positive relationships with residents providing leadership as a resident advocate supporting autonomy and choice. Maintain, promote established policies to ensure confidentiality of all resident information. Establish and disseminate and adhere to, HIPAA compliance policies and procedures. Understand, comply with and promote all rules and regulations regarding residents’ rights; promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and regulators, to include presenting a professional appearance.
- Ethics and Compliance: Duties- Maintains compliance in promoting resident privacy, HIPAA regulations and confidentiality in the delivery of care. Safeguards residents’ medical, financial, and personal information.
- Compliance: Duties- Must adhere to Code of Conduct, Business Ethics, HIPPA, Medicare and Medicaid requirement.
- Other Duties: Duties- Other duties as assigned or needed.
