Director of Enviromental Services Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recruitment, training, clinical orientation, supervision, scheduling, timecards, and personnel issues in the department.
- Communicates on a regular basis with the Administrator who is responsible for ensuring that the facility's physical equipment is functioning, laundry and housekeeping services are performed timely.
- Organizes multiple tasks at the same time and prioritizes work.
- Leads facility inspection tours and meets with Village inspectors.
- Performs or delegates work related to indoor and outdoor maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, including maintaining contracts with outside companies within budget.
- Maintains accurate parts and tool inventories for smaller budget items, submitting capital expense requests for larger needs.
- Maintains accurate documentation as directed.
- May be required to assist at other facilities, as directed by management.
- All other duties as assigned.
Director of Environmental Services Qualifications and Skills:
- The ability to make carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing repairs.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- High level of PC literacy preferred.
Director of Environmental Services Education and Experience:
- Experience performing maintenance duties in a healthcare facility or industrial setting required.
- Associate’s degree, trade program certificates, or equivalent work experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in facility management, engineering, or health and environmental services preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- Must be able to walk, utilize a ladder, and work on the facility roof.
