Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or physicians. LPNs assist patients with their daily needs, administer prescribed treatments, and ensure patient comfort and safety while adhering to healthcare protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and document patient health, including vital signs, weight, and overall condition.
- Assist with personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support.
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments as directed by physicians or RNs.
- Collect samples for laboratory tests and perform basic diagnostic procedures.
- Report patient conditions, changes, or concerns to the supervising RN or physician.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including charts and reports.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding care and treatment.
- Prepare and maintain a clean, safe, and organized healthcare environment.
- Assist with wound care, catheterizations, and other basic medical procedures.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Graduation from an accredited LPN or vocational nursing program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
