Training is Monday - Thursday,
8:00 am - 2:00 pm for 4 weeks
July 7 - August 1, 2025
Classes are held at 1300 James I. Harrison, Jr. Parkway - Tuscaloosa, Al
Skilled Trades does not pay lodging.
Focused on Safety, Tools & Materials for Construction Trades
Part 1 - Basic - 2 weeks
- Introductions to Construction Trades......Electrical - Plumbing - HVAC - Build Construction
- Hand Tools, Power Tools, & Carpentry Tools
- Material Handling & Ladder Safety
- Construction Math & Taking Measurements
- Employability Skills
- 1st AID-CPR Certification
- Scissor Lift Operation
Part 2 - Advanced - 2 weeks -Trade specific - Hands-on Shop time
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Building Construction/Carpentry
- OSHA 10 certification
- Scissor Lift Operation
- Boom Lift Operation
Must complete parts 1 & 2 to referred for employment with West Alabama Contractors
Requirements
High school diploma
Must be 18 by the end of training.
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Valid Driver's License & clean driving record
Ability to pass drug screen & background check.
